The difference between ordinary EPS and flame retardant EPS insulation board

 

Ordinary EPS insulation material has an oxygen index of less than 22. It will catch fire when it encounters an open flame and become more and more prosperous. The combustion performance grade is B3, which is a flammable material.

In order to improve the fire resistance of EPS, in the ordinary expandable EPS resin, adding some flame retardants can greatly increase the oxygen index of EPS. According to different flame retardant properties and addition amount, flame retardant EPS is divided into B2 flame retardant EPS and B1 flame retardant EPS. Flame-retardant EPS is a self-extinguishing material, that is, flame-retardant EPS will also be ignited when exposed to an open flame, but will extinguish itself after leaving the fire source.
